Statement for October, 2006 Exhibit Exhibitions are generally aesthetic travelogues, with deliberate, frequently accidental, moments of inspiration, danger, humor and even trepidation. The images that I have created utilize this premise. “Stops” are essentially reactive and relative surreal moments reflected in formal and expressive architecture. The formal being real architecture, that is buildings in their natural settings. The expressive quality comes from the random organic elements, anatomy and other objects reacting and augmenting the traditional form. These components have a formal structure of their own and certainly become a separate “constructed space” within the composition in certain instances. The exhibit is entirely photographic and all images are digital manipulations. STEVE IWANCZUK |
