John Van Zandt Memorial Concert
Nov. 11, 2006 - 7 to 11 PM - $10

John Van Zandt passed away in August from complications from juvenile diabetes, a disease he had since graduating from high school. John was a member of Highwire Gallery for a number of years and helped coordinate musical events at the Gallery. One of the missions of Highwire was to foster collaborative interactions between artistic disciplines, and John's interests fitted nicely with this mission because of his creativity and interest in music, video, performance, and visual art.

John promoted and invited to the Gallery cutting edge avant garde classical, jazz and rock music. John always put the interests and visions of the artist first, and enabled many performers to have a venue at the Gallery.

The memorial concert is open to the public and is being organized by Abraham Chappelle. Admission is $10 at the door. Most of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.
