February, 2005 Exhibit Jane Chidsey - Bone Structure February 4-28, 2005 photos of the show | photos from the reception "Postmodern Postmortem" 18' x 8', Oil on Canvas Jane Chidsey : Statement Sigmund Freud used archeology as a metaphor for psychoanalysis. He was referring to the uncovering of that which is hidden and revealing that which is buried. My paintings of bones have come from this process. Ppainting is continually searching, watching, waiting and listening. Painting for me is a dance and a meditation. I methodically, almost hypnotically seek out the form; the bones that tell the stories of time and timelessness, the event of death and the truth of life. |
