This was painted for my show Assembly with
photographer Lisa Spera. Lisa took the photo, which I printed and
cut apart, then assembled in checkerboard-fashion. The spaces
between
the
pieces
of the
photo were collaged with pieces of a patriotic calendar showing colonial-era
buildings, which I painted and drew onto. The pieces of the photo
are untouched. |
