This was the first of the collage photo paintings, based
on a photo I took in Tyler State Park (these barns were also the subject
of Barn and House). The photo
was cut into 2-inch squares and half of the pieces were assembled on
top of a painted collage. The remaining pieces of the scene were painted
with semitransparent paint to preserve the background image and blend
with the photograph pieces. A second version of this image using the
other half of the pieces was made at the same time and is very similar
to this one. |
